African handshake

Handshakes are also an icebreaker: the African handshake consists of 3 parts: the Western handshake, followed by turning your thumbs around eachother and grabbing eachother's palms with your fingers & repeating the conventional handshake again! : )

Everybody also always ask how you are doing. Even when you just knod at people they reply 'fine' since every greeeting is considered as an inquiry about your health ; )

Hoe zijn je eerste indrukken daar in het verre Afrika? Kan je je verwarmen? We missen je hier al. (zeker onze kids)
Geen hand, maar wel dikke zoenen en knuffels...
Saskia en co.

Hi everyone,

sister here of Gijs.
Just to pass the message to everyone: We received a message of Gijs to say that they arrived very well there. Unfortunately, they discovered that the last internet bar in the neigbourhood was closed down last year!! So they won’t be able to use this blog as often as first thought.... The same for emails... > no internet connection

Bye-bye,
